Into Darkness - Acastus Prime

Dark Eldar / Craftworld Iyanden vs Ultramarines.

The Kabal of the Golden Mask with an allied force from the Iyanden Craftworld have successfully removed the threat of Chaos on Acastus Prime. Now with the Imperium attempting once more to secure a foothold on the planet, these allies have turned their attention to stopping the Imperial incursion. Once more the Ultramarines were tasked with establishing a suitable beachhead. While they engaged the xenos threat other Imperial forces began to deploy landing craft. The attempt failed due to combined Eldar and Dark Eldar control of the skies. Without air support the attempt failed and the space marine beachhead failed once again.

Repulsed - Crastus

Craftworld Saim-Hann vs Dark Angels.

On Crastus the Eldar have defeated the Farsight Enclave and have now turned their attention to the eradication of the Ork threat. When a Dark Angel force launched an assault on their lines the Eldar of Saim-Hann fought back hard, slowly pushing the space marines back from the front lines of the war. Simply put, the space marines were not prepared for a war ready army of Eldar. The Dark Angels inflicted the casualties that they could but were forced to pull back ready for a second attempt when the time was right.

Planetary Defense - Metallo

Cult Mechanicus vs Traitor Guard.

Abaddon's plan to halt the Imperium's growing successes across the sector have come to this assault. His plans involve launching an all out attack on the only forge world in this corner of space, Metallo. The vanguard strike are a regiment of traitor guard dispatched to capture ground. The Mechanicum mobilizes a sizable force to meet them and the two armies meet on the field of battle.

The war lasts for several weeks with the relentless Mechanicum war machine slowly obliterating the traitorous guardsmen. Soon the war ends and Metallo remains in the hands of the Imperium although how this will effect Abaddon's plans has yet to be revealed.

Operation: Nightfall - D'Then

Blood Angels vs Tau Empire.

Warmaster Xerxes plans to drive the Tau Empire out of the Midas Sector have begun. Before the assault can be made the Imperium needs information that only a Tau Ethereal can provide. Orders are given for the Blood Angels chapter to launch a surgical strike on the war torn world of D'Then. Their objective is to decimate as many Tau as they encounter but to capture and return a living Ethereal at all costs.

Using the eclipse of two of D'Then's moons, the battle barge Blood of Martyrs manages to glide silently into a position above the planet but out of sight of the Tau and Tyranid vessels waging war throughout the system. They deployed via drop pod assault into a major colony and began annihilating all Tau warriors and civilians whilst making for the command post.

The veterans breached the command bunker and successfully captured the Ethereal. As they dragged the prisoner back to the designated extraction point the Tau warriors and battle suits did everything possible to stop them but the space marines fought on and reached the extraction point ready for teleport back to the battle barge. The remaining Blood Angels then set to exterminating the Tau and establishing a suitable landing site for future Imperial forces.

The captured Ethereal was returned to Midas Prime where the Ordos Xenos conducted the interrogation.

Return to Fangol - Fangol

Death Korps of Krieg vs Dark Angels.

The Dark Angels have returned to Fangol to locate their original stronghold. Hidden within it's computer records is information that the chapter's Inner Circle does not want falling into Imperial hands lest it raises uncomfortable questions. Upon their arrival they find the site has been discovered by a contingent from the Death Korps of Krieg.

Upon landing the space marines claim ownership of the fortress and request that the company depart but they are under orders from Inquisitor Butlerian. This leaves the Dark Angels no choice but to engage the guardsmen. The surprise assault took the guardsmen by surprise but they soon rallied. Although brief, the engagement went fully into the hands of the Death Korps who drove the Dark Angels back into their transports. The Dark Angels retreated back into orbit and bombed the site from orbit. The information contained in the computer records was too valuable to allow it to fall into the wrong hands.

Update #123

"Fight to the bitter end, with the knowledge that your faith in the Emperor shall sustain you."
- Sister Syballine, Sisterhood of St. Keeler.

The Imperium has managed to turn the crusade around in recent months. Targeting and recapturing vital worlds before moving on to the next has proved an effective move. Total victory over the forces arrayed against them is still some way off but if the Imperial military can continue to be victorious then the sector shall be theirs!

The Necrons having captured significant territory have halted their advance for now and appear to be awakening even more forces from the ancient tomb worlds that they have recovered. Imperial leadership is concerned that the Necrons will prove to be the largest threat the Imperium faces in the years ahead.

The Craftworld Eldar and their Corsair allies appear to be sowing chaos among the various factions, yet not claiming any real territory for themselves. Are they attempting to manipulate things for future events that others have not seen or have their recent civil war caused them to be lose cohesion? Will a new leader emerge to restore the Eldar alliance?

Chaos once dominated the sector but with the death of Kor Aven the united force has fallen apart. Abaddon's arrival has only served to fracture the alliance between the Chaos forces. If the Despoiler does not rally those forces to his banner once again Chaos will be driven from the sector for good.

The Orks once held to a handful of worlds have now begun to spread throughout the stars. Volistad will soon be liberated but under Gahzkull's leadership they could sweep across many worlds and form a brand new Empire.

The Kabal of the Golden Mask have become the dominant piratical force in the sector. Many other lesser Kabals have flocked to their banner. Now they fight on many worlds, capturing many slaves and feeding on the fear and despair of their enemies. As they fight for nothing more than this, Imperial command considers them a nuisance rather than a significant threat.

The Tyranid threat was once considered so terrible that whole new fleets of ships and regiments of guardsmen were brought in to contain them. However, the vanguard attacks have mostly been repulsed and the Tyranid advance halted significantly. Though not discounted the Hive Mind will need to change it's strategies if they are to feed on these rich worlds.

The Tau Empire and the Farsight Enclave have never really secured a foothold here. Too many threats arrayed against them have ensured that unless something significant happens they will never claim this sector for their own empires.

Carnage! - Bantis V

Dark Eldar vs Death Guard.

On Bantis the Death Guard fight to drive the Dark Eldar raiders from the world. Unfortunately for them the raiders poisoned weapons are more than enough to cause major casualties to the plague marines. A series of minor skirmishes across the main continent force the plague marines back granting the raiders an opportunity to launch pincer attacks against them. Cut off and surrounded the Death Guard are soon whittled down.

Lords of War - Hermes IV

Traitor Knights vs Blood Angels

The war on Hermes comes to a sudden halt as something previously unseen enters the war; a legion of traitor Knights! These mighty engines of war march into the path of the Blood Angels space marines. Unable to hurt these mighty behemoths of destruction the space marines attempt to retreat but find their path blocked by a second detachment of Knights. They report in to command about the new threat and prepare to sell their lives dearly. The battle is short lived and the space marines force is decimated with no survivors. The traitor Knights then march towards the main lines of the Imperial advance.

Liberation - Pelias IX

Craftworld Saim-Hann vs Dark Eldar

Pelias IX is a world forgotten by many in the various wars plaguing the sector. It has spent the better part of the last year buried in conflict between Dark Eldar, Orks and the falling Craftworld Alaitoc. Now, after months of obscurity the Alaitoc defenders have recieved vital help. Craftworld Saim-Hann has come to their aid against the piratical brethren.

Using fast moving skimmers, jetbikes and aircraft, the forces of Saim-Hann launched a surprise attack on the main body of the Dark Eldar forces. The initial attack scattered the Dark Eldar giving Alaitoc the chance to retreat and regroup. Saim-Hann pursued the Dark Eldar at speed across the surface of Pelias IX. Although the initial attack only scattered the enemy, it did give the Craftworld forces a much needed victory.

Death from the Skies - Metallo IV

Dark Angels vs Dark Eldar

Following the corsair attack on Metallo, the third company of Dark Angels came to the forge world's defence. Rather than the Craftworld's arriving to attack the planet, the webway had released a raiding force of dark Eldar. These pirates came in waves of fighters and skimmers, so the Dark Angels only deployed a skeleton force to guard key locations. The rest attacked with fighter and bomber aircraft. Swooping over the landscape these aircraft battered the Dark Eldar skimmers negating their superiority. Under such a savage and swift attack both the Corsairs and the Dark Eldar fled back into the webway.

Battle of Ha'rar Colony - Acastus Prime

Tau Empire vs Dark Eldar.

The Battle of Ha'rar was part of the Tau - Kabal of the Golden Mask war. The battle took place at the Ha'rar colony. The Tau leadership had predicated that the pirates would raid this colony and bolstered the defences with extra fire warrior teams and fortifications. Though the Dark Eldar forces reached the colony outskirts, the battle went against them quickly and their forces were too exhausted to take the colony. They eventually had to withdraw to prevent serious losses.

Operation: Righteous Fury - Callista V

Dark Angels vs Death Guard

With the war to retake Volistad from the Orks going well, the Imperium turns it's attention to reclaiming the fallen shrine world. First in are the Dark Angels ever on the search for the Fallen before anyone else finds them.

By the end of the first month, the Dark Angels had been successful in capturing or destroying 60% of their designated targets. These victories did not come without drawbacks. The Death Guard defenders inflicted heavy casualties on the attackers before themselves being defeated. The Dark Angels then followed up by gaining aerial superiority until the Imperial Navy could arrive to secure the Callistan airspace.

The Dark Angels then moved on to launch raids on the main Chaos marine military installation. These attacks were led mainly by the Raven Wing using attack bike squads and waves of fast moving land speeders. The fighting was vicious as both sides knew what the stakes were for control of the planet. After two days of fighting the Death Guard retreated to regroup with other traitor marine forces.

Return of the Horde - T'Vora.

Orks vs Tau Empire.

For over six months the Tau have been successful in containing the Ork threat to the Kapyong Valley. Frequent attempts to breach the lines have proven unsuccessful but likewise, the Ork numbers have prevented the Empire from annihilating them just yet. Now, the Orks have returned surging forth in vast numbers unexpected by the Empire. The Tau are forced to pull troops back from the raids against the piratical Eldar to bolster their lines.

The Orks have not been idle and attack with strangle flying deffcopters and ramshackle aircraft. Unprepared for the arrival of aerial assault the Tau forces take heavy losses and are forced to pull back, which allows the main Ork army to emerge from the valley to swarm the Orthan Flats.

Corsair Raid - Metallo

Eldar Corsairs vs Cult Mechanicus.

The forge world of Metallo once again becomes the target for alien aggression. The Eldar Corsairs which recently liberated the Urbis system have now launched an attack upon this world holy to the Omnissiah. The Mechanicum prepares to fight a defensive war but the fast moving corsairs have different views. Striking at speed, they breach the outer walls of several factorum complexes and are successful in bringing down the mighty war engines of the Mechanicus. In return they take few losses themselves and are able to establish a safe zone to activate the webway allowing access to the Craftworld Eldar.

The Emperor's Will - Hermes IV

Ultramarines vs Traitor Guard.

The war for Hermes IV continues! The traitor forces are being smashed aside by the might of the Emperor's armies! Ranging ahead of the Astra Militarum ground troops, the third and fourth companies of the Ultramarines chapter assault and decimate outposts and companies of traitor guardsmen! In some instances leaving nothing for the Imperial guardsmen to do when advancing forward. Slowly, by the effort of the space marines the forces of Chaos are being slain and soon Hermes IV will once again be in the hands of the Imperium.

Chaos Defeated! - Urbis III

Eldar Corsairs vs Death Guard

The Eldar Corsairs continue their assault upon the remaining Death Guard on Urbis III. Typhus has fled into the Warp leaving his remaining forces behind. In orbit, the Corsair fleet destroys the Chaos ships in one swift strike.

They then descend to the surface and assault the remaining bolt holes where the plague marines wait ready for the coming battle. Long range weaponry blasts holes in the Chaos defences. Skimmers and ground troops rush in through the breaches to engage the plague marines in close combat and short range fire fights.

Woefully outnumbered and without the leadership of Typhus, the plague marines are swiftly cut down removing the Chaos taint from Urbis III. The world, although still in a state of war, is in the hands of the Eldar.

Plague Storm - Acastus Prime

Death Guard vs Tau Empire

A small Chaos force has returned to the Tau colony on Acastus Prime. Led by Typhus of Nurgle, the force begins to deploying bacterial weaponry into the atmosphere before then deploying to the surface. Many Tau and Dark Eldar die that day and the invasion continues for many weeks.

The turning point in the war came when the Death Guard were scouting the no man's land for supplies and collecting their own dead. The Tau Empire seeking to bring down Typhus launch an attack using battle suits supported by a few smaller fire warrior teams. The Tau sought to punish the Death Guard with overwhelming firepower but the infested marines were resistant to the shock of those advanced weapons.

Typhus himself waded into the enemy battle suits and cut them down with a swing of his daemon scythe. Seeing the mighty of a Chaos champion cleaving through their best weapons panicked the Tau who soon fell back. The Death Guard will soon crush the remaining Tau and turn their attention to the Dark Eldar present on Acastus.

Stalemate - Volistad

Orks vs Astra Militarum

The war for Volistad has come to a draw once again. All Imperial momentum has ground to a halt as the Ork armies just pile more and more bodies into the battle. Requests are repeated for space marine involvement but so far nothing has come of it. More troop transports are on route to help bolster the men and women on the ground but without elite assistance their presence may not be enough to push the Orks back once again.

Counterattack - Hermes IV

Raven Guard / Ultramarines vs Dark Mechanicus / Traitor Guard.

Imperial command and determined that if Hermes IV is to be reclaimed that the space marines must launch a series of strikes against non-daemonic threats. If the main enemy forces can be destroyed then the daemons should fade back into the Warp. The Raven Guard and Ultramarines were picked to launch those strikes. The most obvious target was a dark mechanicus factorum guarded by a regiment of traitor guard.

The Raven Guard deployed in secret and monitored the facility for several days before the attack was given the go command. They took out anti-air defences with melta bombs and took out groups of guardsmen while the Ultramarines deployed via drop pod assault. After suffering heavy casualties the remaining traitor guard fled into the wastes to escape the wrath of the space marines. Both space marine forces then entered the facility and took down the dark mechancius and their automaton ground troops.

Within the facility they located a warp gate which was generating the warp storm fragmentary cloud around the planet. Destroying that dissipated the cloud and weakened the daemon horde. Across Hermes the Astra Militarum were then able to push forwards once more and secure formerly lost territory.

Update #122

Naked force has settled more issues in history than any other factor. The contrary opinion 'violence never solves anything' is wishful thinking at its worst. People who forget that always pay... They pay with their lives and their freedom

Wednesday, 20 April 2016

Chaos Ascendent - Hermes IV

Chaos Daemons vs Space Wolves

The Imperial war on Hermes to drive away the forces of Chaos has begun to slow down. After months of heavy fighting, the world has become smothered by a remnant of the original Midas warp storm and from it's miasma have emerged a sizeable force of daemons.
In order to protect the vulnerable Astra Militarum ground troops the battle brothers of the Space Wolves have spent the last few months launching frequent raids against the daemonic lines. Each time they have been beaten back and the daemons have encroached further into Imperial territory. With such a mighty force arrayed against them the Imperial ground forces are being forced further apart and split. Xerxes advisors fear that Hermes will soon fall back into enemy hands.

Monday, 18 April 2016

Corsair Raid - Urbis III

Corsairs vs Death Guard

In an unexpected turn of events, an Eldar corsair force has attacked the Chaos holdings on Urbis III. Although they struck at the various factions on the planet below the largest and most bloody engagement was the attack upon the fortress of the Death Guard. For a moment it appeared as though the pirates had chosen the wrong target but soon battle turned in their favour. The corsairs were far more manouverable than the grounded plague marines and they simply remained outside of optimal bolter range, whilst cutting down the chaos marines with their own long range weaponry. With the Death Guard fortress now laid bare and burning, their void dancer sent a psychic call to their craftworld brethren, summoning them to this world.

The Emperor's Wrath - Volistad

Orks vs Astra Militarum

The all new offensive to reclaim Volistad from the Orks is going extremely well. With the initial assault by the Space Wolves over for now, the men and women of the Astra Militarum have taken over. With a constant supply of fresh tanks and munitions coming in from Minora IV the Imperium's fighting forces are in an excellent position for once to defeat the Ork menace here. Across the globe various regiments are decimating the Orks and making room for more and more landing craft to bring huge numbers of guardsmen into the fray.

Hive Fleet Repelled - Ventara

Orks vs Tyranids

It has been some months since Imperial intelligence has cast it's eyes over the situation in the Ventara system but it now appears that the war is coming to an end. The Orks vastly outnumber their Eldar opponents with more and more fresh greenskins popping up every day. The Eldar have no choice but to slowly retreat and allow the Orks to claim total dominion over this world.

The Eldar escape was made all the more easier by the sudden arrival of a small Tyranid vanguard fleet. The monsters managed to break through the orbiting Ork ships and actually deploy forces to the surface. Immediately the Orks turned from their weaker foe to this more interesting and aggressive foe. The Tyranids immediately suffered the same problem, for every Ork slain several more arose to fight. Over weeks of brutal combat the Orks achieved a very easy victory against the Tyranids and were able to destroy each of the hive ships in orbit.

The Eldar however, while mostly evacuated, have maintained a small mobile strike force on Ventara should the chance arise to take out the greenskin menace.

The Retaking Begins - Volistad

Space Wolves vs Orks

The time has come for the Imperium's largest effort to retake Volistad, this time led by the Space Wolves chapter. The chapter descended to the surface and brought their wrath to the greenskin hordes. Droppods and thunderhawks smashed into the Ork lines across the surface of Volistad. Once deployed they smashed aside the Ork war bands and secured vital landing sites for the following troops who were entering orbit within hours. So far this effort has begun to show promise but it will depend on how well the reinforcing ground troops continue the work started by the Space Wolves.

Moon Base Raid - Callista VI

Black Legion vs The Fated.

Elsewhere on the moon of Callista VI a separate force of The Fated deployed to the Black Legion base there. Breaching the thin atmosphere, the war band assaulted the fortress there. With the Black Legion engaged in space or on the surface of Callista, there was little to stop them from breaching the structure. Once within the Fated fought their way to the Black Legion's stolen cache of geneseed, where they then made off with hundreds of the organic implants. With their goal complete, the Fated teleported out and their ship escaped the system.

Battlefront - Callista VI

The Fated vs Black Legion.

While the battle was underway in orbit, a detachment of The Fated teleported to the surface. The Fated then launched what ultimately proved to be a suicidal attack upon the Black Legion command station. The war band through their lives away needlessly as the attack seemed to have no purpose. Ultimately The Fated must have had some ulterior motive for their attacks but for now it is unknown.

Orbital Raid - Callista VI

Black Legion vs The Fated

In the skies above Callista VI two battle fleets engage in close quarters combat. A Black Legion fleet had moved in to deploy reinforcements to the surface when a smaller fleet of ships from The Fated war band translated into the system and opened fire. The command ship Legacy of the Despoiler was obliterated in the first volley.
Both fleets then engaged at close range. Although the Fated had the initiative the Black Legion fleet outnumbered them three to one. The battle lasted for several hours before the last Fated vessel limped off into the outer system before exploding under it's own wounds.

Devour the Living! - Bantis V

Dark Eldar vs Tyranids

On Bantis the Tyranids have already consumed the outer planets but continually seem to suffer defeat when facing the defenders of the fifth planet. At last however, the hive mind has adapted its strategies to handle the biomass arrayed against it.

The hive mind has dispatched large numbers of lictors into dark eldar held areas of the planet where they gain entry to the main camps and begin picking off randome individuals and slaves. As chaos begins to sow among the ranks the main force of tyranid creatures attacks. While the dark eldar fight to keep the alien horrors at bay the lictors strike from the rear. So far this tactic has been successful but how long until the dark eldar themselves adapt?

Hard Enuff! - Volistad

Orks vs Salamanders

The Imperium has long had it's eyes upon Volistad. One of the first worlds to full fall from Imperial hands, it has remained the staging ground for all Ork incursions ever since and something must be done to defeat them and return this world to Imperial control. A force of space marines from the Salamanders chapter has been dispatched to begin the initial attack for reconquest!

Devastater squads and predator tanks were deployed first in an effort to take out any heavy vehicles or bunkers that the orks might have, but met heavy resistance from the start. The Salamanders were immediately on the back foot and despite repeated attempts to break the ork forces were unable to even secure a suitable landing site. Upon retreating to their waiting battle barges, the Imperium did learn that the Orks were still fighting Enclave forces but were swiftly overrunning the aliens.

Imperial Forces Routed - Acastus Prime

Ultramarines vs Dark Eldar.

For some time the Imperium has attempted to lay claim to Acastus Prime but has suffered major losses. Lately those losses have come from Dark Eldar loyal to the Kabal of the Golden Mask. The kabal has been very successful in it's raids across the sector with no faction having the ability or tactical skill to drive them off without significant loss of life and supplies. The Imperial forces on Acastus Prime have recently been on the receving end of their raids, where the aliens seem to be avoiding the Tau present for some reason.

Across the planet the dark eldar assault space marine positions dragging some away in chains and simply killing others. After weeks of constant raids the decision has been made to retreat the Imperium from this world for now while agents of the Ordos Xenos seek a way to finally defeat and eradicate the dark eldar from the sector once and for all.

Friday, 26 February 2016

Jungle Strike - Grimlock

Black Legion vs Craftworld Alaitoc

For the last couple of months since the Tyranid menace of Grimlock was eradicated, the Eldar have focused their fire upon the Chaos forces present. They have launched a series of fast hit and run strikes which the chaos marines have had a hard time countering. Recently however, with the arrival of Black Legion reinforcements they have begun to draw the Eldar out and isolate them in order to reduce their numbers. In the dense jungles the Eldar have a hard time manouvering at speed and it is this flaw which the Black Legion champions have used against them. Drawing the Eldar into established kill zones they slaughtered hundreds of the alien raiders and forced the Eldar to withdraw and plan a new attack method.

Update #121

"The roar of engines, the recoil of cannons. That is where the true joy of battle lies."
- Sergeant Chronus, Ultramarines chapter.

The Power of Chaos - Urbis III

Word Bearers vs Ultramarines

The Imperium continues in it's attempt to liberate the world of Urbis III from the traitor and xenos forces occupying the planet. The Ultramarines have been fighting the forces of Chaos in the southern hive cities but to little avail. With every victory they achieve the Word Bearers achieve two more elsewhere, often in the fight against the Dark Eldar. The space marines must now chose their targets more carefully and ensure that they can hold out against the Chaos forces arrayed against them but things do not look good for the time being.

A Bridge Too WAAAGHH!!! - Metallo V

Cult Mechanicus vs Orks.

An Ork raiding part has crashed onto the surface of Metallo initiating a full mobilization of the Mechanicus forces present. The resulting skirmish lasted for several days as the two armies clashed in the ash wastes between facilities and in the barren mountain valleys. The Mechanicus forces were successful in eradicating the greenskin menace but fears have arisen that perhaps the Forge World will be the next target for the Orks and requests have been sent to secure further military forces in the advent of such an attack.

Battle for Mining Station Empsilon - Rakdos

Tyranids vs Harlequins

A minor engagement in the scheme of wars across the Midas Sector, the battle for Mining Station Epsilon was the last battle between the Tyranids and the remaining Eldar forces on Rakdos. A troupe of Harlequins ambushed a marauding pack of organisms as they roamed ahead of the main forces. By the reports of the escaping miners, the harlequins fought the monsters and allowed the miners to escape largely unharmed. The harlequins were slain by the creatures they fought, and it has left the advisers to Warmaster Xerxes concerned as to the motivations of the Eldar and why they would do this.

Return of the Enclave - Infernus

Farsight Enclave vs Necrons.

For reasons unknown the forces of the Enclave have returned to Infernus and this time in much greater numbers. Their ships, mighty Custodian class battleships, smashed aside the orbiting defences and allowed the smaller drop ships to reach the surface unharmed. Once down, the commanders set up defensive perimeters until the larger forces were deployed.

The Necrons reanimated and marched to combat this new threat to their supremacy. The Enclave had studied their foe however and were ready for anything that could be thrown at them. Incoming jetbikes and aircraft were ruthlessly shot down and the waves of destroyers destroyed by powerful volleys of fire. When the main body of the Necron army arrived they found the Enclave perfectly prepared to fight the long war. It is at this stage that the war enters it's third month with the Enclave slowly pushing back the machine defenders while new manpower and equipment is deployed to the surface on a constant day and night basis. With the forces now arrayed against them, it may be unlikely that the Necron forces can survive a prolonged attack on their new world.

Bloodbath - Bantis V

World Eaters vs Death Guard

The forces of Chaos continue to wage war upon the worlds of the Bantis system. Fighting both the Tyranids and raiding parties of Dark Eldar, the various Chaos Marines have been forced to divide their forces against multiple threats but have slowly begun to emerge victorious.

Things have not gone well for the Chaos forces however,  due to the number of World Eater legions fighting. On several occasions the unholy rage as taken them over and they have turned on their allies without hesitation. One particularly brutal conflict occurred as the World Eaters fought alongside elements of the Death Guard against the Dark Eldar. After slaughtering thousands of xenos warriors, the World Eaters fell upon their allies. The Death Guard seemed largely immune to the wounds and injuries inflicted upon them but had fewer number as the forces of Typhus were spread across the sector. Whittled away piece by piece (literally), the servants of Nurgle were forced to flee or be cut down. Chaos had been victorious but events such as these were reducing their overall numbers and effectiveness.

The Enclave Devoured - D'Then

Tyranids vs Farsight Enclave

Any hope that the Empire had of assistance from their estranged cousins in the Enclave have been dashed. The Enclave forces had been extremely aggressive in their desire to destroy the Tyranids and it had cost them greatly in manpower and equipment. Slowly, their numbers were whittled away while the Tyranids grew evermore in numbers and ferocity. Eventually the Enclave forces were routed and scythed down in a brutal bloodbath. The Tau however were able to bolster defences and seek assistance elsewhere from their own forces but whether it will be enough has yet to be decided on the blood soaked battlefields of D'Then.

The Emperor's Wrath - Hermes V

Imperial Fists vs Traitor Guard

More and more Imperial forces make planetfall upon Hermes V in a non stop effort to eradicate the forces of Chaos. In the many months of fighting since the war for this world began the Imperium has suffered many setbacks not the least of which has been the number of Astra Militarum regiments who have turned traitor and joined Abaddon's cause. The task of hunting down and eradicating these renegades has been handed to the Imperial Fists chapter under Captain Lysander. They have brought fear and wrath to the traitors, driving them before them and cutting them down with no remorse. Although it has taken months to locate and destroy each regiment, the loss of each and every traitor force has allowed the Imperial war effort to progress forward.

Failed Invasion - Khemet III

Necrons vs Farsight Enclave

The Farsight Enclave continue their strategy of testing the weaknesses of potential targets but this time they may have attacked more than they could handle. The Enclave launch an attack upon the Necron home world of Khemet III. The machines immediately retaliated and their assault was devastating to the Enclave ground troops who had no where to retreat to.

Slowly the Necron warriors herded the Enclave ground forces into the range of their long range weaponry, and then further still into a kill zone between multiple Necron regiments. The Enclave never stood a chance and the ships in orbit were forced to retreat out of the system, leaving any troops to die on the surface.

Infighting - Volcanis

Death Guard vs Death Guard

On distant Volcanis the Death Guard presence have fallen into infighting as aspiring champions fight to claim dominance. Once such champion, having secured a large regiment of plague marines and cultists, sought to prove his worth to Nurgle and marched upon the stronghold of Typhus. The two champions of Nurgle faced each other on the sulfur plains where they fought to the death. Battle was long and bloody, with plague marines of both sides seemingly immune to death. Eventually the unknown champion was successful in disrupting Typhus' cult and the traveler simply pulled his forces into the Warp, leaving the renegade faction to their small victory.

Return to Rakdos - Rakdos

Imperial Fists vs Craftworld Alaitoc

The Imperial forces on Rakdos have formed a defensive posture, holding out until further aid can come to aid against the Tyranid menace. No such help has been forthcoming and the Imperial Fists librarians do not feel that they can breach the shadow in the warp but until help does arrive they will lead the defense of Rakdos. Thus far they have succeeded in keeping the Tyranid horde at bay as the world is slowly devoured around them.

Help did not arrive but forces of Craftworld Alaitoc have returned and for reasons of their own ignored the alien invaders in favour of storming the walls of the Imperial outposts. The Imperial Fists chapter of space marines marshaled the defenders and took the fight back to the Eldar. The space marines suffered from a lack of ammunition where as the Eldar of Alaitoc had a seemingly endless supply if troops striking into the ranks. Eventually sustained fire brought down the outer walls forcing the space marines to concentrate on those weak points but drawing excessive fire as they did so.

The outnumbered and outgunned space marines soon fell to the last man and the Eldar swept past them into the outpost where they massacred the fleeing planetary defence forces. The Imperial defenders elsewhere now watch their walls and pray to the Emperor that help comes to them before the Eldar do.

Update #120

"This is war! You find the enemy, then go after and destroy him. Nothing else matters!"
- Groth, Word Bearer.

Fall of the Hive - Grimlock

Iyanden / Dark Eldar vs Tyranids.

The war for Grimlock has been long and bloody with various sides fighting for supremacy. From this constant warfare has arisen a new brief alliance between the Dark Eldar and their brothers from the Iyanden Craftworld. Working in concert to remove the Tyranid threat they have waged a lengthy battle of hit and run skirmishes which have caused intense damage to the bio creatures of Hive Fleet Amorak.

After months of fighting, they finally slaughtered the last few Tyranid organisms. Now they just have the last few Chaos and Necron forces to eradicate and the Eldar will have claimed this death world.

Opportunity Raid - Metallo IV

Crimson Slaughter vs Space Wolves.

The Midas Sector receives an unexpected visit as a warband of the Crimson Slaughter passes through seeking supplies for their own crusade. They descended upon the forge world of Metallo in search of those very materials of war. The Tech priests sent out a call for aid but help was not to arrive for several days until a company of Space Wolves translated into system.

The struggle was brief for the traitor marines outnumbered the Space Wolves three to one. However the arrival of the Imperial marines was enough to force the Crimson Slaughter to withdraw with their looted munitions. However, a few remained to hold a Chaos presence here. Their sorcerers called across the Warp to draw other Chaos marines here to hold off the Imperium as they made their escape.

Infernus Revolts - Infernus

Necrons vs Chaos Daemons

The turning of the year sees a fresh offensive by the forces of Chaos. The Word Bearers legion breached the Necron orbital defences and using ancient powerful rites summoned a massive horde of daemons to the surface of Infernus. The daemonic horrors assaulted the Necron strongholds, smashing the machine armies before they could react. Bolstered by the chants of the Word Bearers the daemons resisted the call of the Warp as well as the eldritch weapons of the Necron warriors.

The daemonic army continued to grow and carved out a wide swath of territory which soon began to turn back into the living flesh that Infernus had once been. The Necrons mobilised and Infernus was once again plunged into bloody war.
